Lattice structure
- Gregory patch is controlled with unique lattice structure. This mechanism
provides intuitive shape operation and drastic data compression.
If a smooth surface is represented with a polygon mesh,
its data size will be tremendous.
Such data size makes shape modification quite difficult.
By contrast,
the lattice structure retains surface data as lattices,
which enables data size to be very small.
Manipulating this control lattice operates the corresponding
free-form surface. Lattice structure is the valuable modeling
method.
